Grease Fittings
Grease fittings are also commonly referred to as zerk grease fittings or grease nipples. The zerk fitting was patented by Oscar Zerk in 1929 and was designed to feed grease into a bearing using a grease gun. This was a new and improved method at the time and now is widely used for all greasing applications. Fittings can come in a variety of thread options from metric to standard as not all grease ports are the same. The most common size for a grease fitting is 1/4"-28 SAE and is most oftenly used in automotive environments.
